What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by placing your hands over a person or placing directly on their body. It is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive, the "Ki".
If one's life force energy is low, then you are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

What Does Reiki Mean?
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

What Does It Feel Like?
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Many have reported miraculous breakthroughs, but for people who are experiencing severe energetic blockages and stress, REIKI can unlock these connections causing an overwhelming emotional burst of various energies over the days to come after their session. You should not be alarmed, though. I, as your REIKI practitioner, will be readily available to help you process any emotions or feelings that you are having.

How Does Reiki Work?
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

A Spiritual Experience
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no set deity to worship, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not.
Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.
While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others.

Who Founded Reiki?
Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
During a meditation several years after developing Reiki, Mikao Usui decided to add the Reiki Principles to the practice of Reiki. These principles are often called Ideals, and they came in part from the Meiji emperor of Japan who Usui admired.
Five Principles
"Just for today, i will not worry."
"Just for today, I will not be angry."
"Just for today, I will be grateful."
"Just for today, I will do my work honestly."
"Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing."

The principles were developed to add spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. Their purpose is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it.
The Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value.
Everyone has the life force energy within them, and Reiki practitioners help clients connect with it and bring it to the forefront in their daily lives.

Ways to Use Reiki
You can be physically present with a Reiki Master, on a video call, phone call, or just simply schedule a time to connect via the life force and the universe with no verbal, physical or visible contact at all, called Distance Healing or Distance Reiki. I always like to establish a physical connection with my clients first, but sometimes this is not possible as the Universe calls upon me to heal from a distance.
Reiki is safe to be used on anyone, everyone, and anything, from human to animal to a business. Anything that you would like to place the life force energy into, Reiki can be applied by a Reiki practitioner!

How To Prepare for a Reiki Session
There is no standard procedure in preparation for a Reiki session. but I highly recommend abiding by the following to enhance your experience:
​
1. No consumption of red meat, fast food, alcohol, or heavily processed foods at least 12 hours prior to your session.
2. No caffeine less than 8 hours prior to your session.
3. No strenuous exercise less than 3 hours prior to your session.
4. Write down any pains, emotional issues, anxieties etc. you are having that you want to address during your session so that I may review them. Providing them at the time of your session reservation is optimal, but we can chat about it when I arrive as well.

Please drink water and herbal teas such as peppermint, ginger, lemon, chamomile.
Please be advised that UNLESS you are attending Group Reiki or Individual Reiki Sessions at YogaNOW Pompano Beach, all Reiki services will be conducted in the client's home, office, or from a distance.

Reiki Classic includes a brief pre-treatment meditation with guided breathwork, Energy Axis stimulation (gentle Chakra massage in the hands, feet, and solar plexus), the use of healing sound frequencies, cleansing herb incense, and healing crystal placements.
One simple Shamanic energy clearing is included to address any struggles or blockages.
One 10-minute Check-In in via text is included to see how you are feeling a few hours following treatment.

Distance Reiki
I love connecting with my clients for Distance Energy Therapy when they travel or if someone needs healing who is not close by.
Reiki can travel to the past, present, and future! Receive reiki in any timeline. We do not need to be on the phone or video chat to connect, you just need a quiet space to focus.
I will e-mail or text you a link to a guided meditation video for you to follow during this time.
A 10-minute text or phone session is included to re-cap any feedback from me and what you experienced during your session.

Group Reiki Classes
$60/person
Experience Reiki in a small group environment of 4-people coming together in a sacred safe space of healing and support.
You will experience guided breathwork, meditation, healing stone placement, hands on or hands above energy transfer, and prompts for relief.
Eye mask is provided. Please bring your own mat, towel, and water.
Classes are offered at YogaNOW Pompano Beach every Thursday at 7 P.M.
Add-On Services
You can add items such as healing crystals (will need to purchase for you, prices vary), Epsom foot soak, Accupressure Mat, Nutrition, Lifestyle, or Mindset counseling, and Spiritual evaluation and feedback.
